Our story · Developed in Japan since 2014
A lifelong fascination with faces became a new kind of patch.
Toute Nuit began in Tokyo with one woman’s question: could a wrinkle patch be more comfortable, more precise, and shaped around the way real faces move?
Her name is Yumi. Our customers know her as Ms. Mimiko. She is our founder, and she is our legacy.

Meet the founder
Fascinated by faces from the beginning.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Yumi loved drawing faces as a girl. Those drawings never really stopped. The woman illustrated on every Toute Nuit box today was drawn by her own hand.
After studying women’s history and culture at Seijo University, she worked at a Japanese advertising agency, then trained in makeup artistry in Los Angeles. Back in Japan she worked as a freelance makeup artist on major television commercials, became a certified esthetician, and consulted for the French skincare house Orlane.

The long idea
Decades of curiosity. One determined beginning.
- Early inspiration
Her mother struggled with an uncomfortable paper wrinkle patch. The problem stayed with her.
- Experimentation
Years later she began testing different tapes and sharing early versions with family and friends.
- 2013 · Age 63
With her children grown, she set out to build a better patch, working with a Japanese tape maker on shapes and materials.
- April 2014
Toute Nuit, French for “all night,” launches in Japan with three original shapes.
- July 2015
On her 65th birthday, Yumi brings Toute Nuit to the United States.

A new look. The same shape-for-every-line idea, in new packaging she illustrated.

Where it started
The original boxes.
Instead of one large mask or a stiff paper patch, Yumi drew a family of shapes, each cut for a different line or contour. Six of them made the trip from Japan to the US.
The packaging has changed since. The idea hasn’t: a shape for every line, worn every night.

The founder as the first customer
A ritual practiced long before it became a brand.
Yumi began her own patch routine at 30 and has kept it up ever since. Toute Nuit grew from that personal ritual into something she could share: a gentle, affordable, needle-free option for anyone who wants it.

Precision was the product idea.
Today’s patches use a transparent, medical-grade adhesive tape, with patches and packaging made in Pennsylvania.
Observe
Start with the way expression actually moves across the face.
Draw
Design a shape for the line, contour or area, not one size for everything.
Refine
Keep it light, transparent and comfortable enough to wear every night.
