Fascinated by faces

Ms. Mimiko, born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, developed a passion for drawing faces from a young age, a talent that later appeared on the Japanese packaging of Toute Nuit. She hand-illustrated the women’s faces on the front and back of the packaging. Inspired by her mother’s attempt to use a beauty product she had read about in a magazine—a wrinkle patch from Hollywood—Ms. Mimiko became curious about how such products worked, after seeing her mother struggle with their discomfort and ineffectiveness.

I want to be a make-up artist

After studying women’s history and culture at Seijo University, Ms. Mimiko began her career at a Japanese ad agency, where she discovered a passion for make-up artistry. She moved to New York to study English and connect with artists, then trained at Elegance International Academy in Los Angeles. Back in Japan, she worked as a freelance make-up artist on major TV commercials for brands like Toyota, Coca-Cola, and McDonald's, became a certified esthetician, and consulted for Orlane.

I have a wrinkle patch idea

After meeting her future husband, an American advertising executive in Tokyo, she retired to raise their two sons while moving between assignments in Japan, Los Angeles, Brussels, and Rome. During this 30+ year hiatus, she never forgot the wrinkle patches her mother had used and saw Hollywood makeup artists use. Intrigued by their natural effectiveness, she began experimenting with different types of tape to create her own version, sharing them with family and friends. This marked the beginning of her wrinkle patch project.

Started in Japan

In 2013, at age 63, Ms. Mimiko, now free from family obligations, decided to start her own business focused on wrinkle patches. Drawing on her expertise in make-up, skin care, and facial muscles, she partnered with a Japanese tape manufacturer to design and test various patch shapes. She named her brand Toute Nuit, meaning "every night," and launched it in Japan in April 2014 with three patch shapes.

America here I come!

Encouraged by positive feedback in Japan, Ms. Mimiko expanded Toute Nuit to the USA on her 65th birthday in July 2015. She redesigned the packaging and marketing for the U.S. market, sourcing medical-grade plastic tape from a trusted supplier that meets FDA and ISO regulations. The patches and packaging are now manufactured in Pennsylvania.

Ms. Mimiko is the best proof Toute Nuit works!

Starting at age 30, she used her own wrinkle patches nightly, following the same routine as Toute Nuit. She’s never had work done, avoided Botox and fillers, and uses minimal makeup. Now, her dream of offering a natural, safe, and affordable solution for a youthful appearance is a reality. Try her patches, and if you’re happy, share with loved ones.
